We Have Rain!

What a chilly, damp day outside. Yea!! I heard the rain hitting my window last night after I went to bed. What a wonderful sound. It has been so dry and we would have had to get some water out to our surviving lilacs and the little tree that came up despite getting sprayed with Roundup! The Lilies also haven't had water. This is so perfect! This will give Brandie's lawn a little time to soak in the water and turn green again before winter hits, also.

With Fall being right around the corner, it is time to get a bale of straw for the dog houses. We have to be careful not to get it too early, as Sammy (the Black Lab/Boxer mix) will have fun pulling it out of the dog house, jumping and playing in it, and scattering it to the winds. She is such a big baby!!

My pickup broke down in town last Sunday. I had it pulled up to Mike's house, which was quite a feat. The tow trucks were all busy that night, so it took about an hour to get one, (through my insurance) and then the dispatcher sent out the new guy in the broken truck. The kid worked so hard, but didn't have experience with the back wheel dollies, so after three calls to his co-worker, the co-worker came and helped to get it loaded on the dolly. Then the lights went out on the tow truck and then the tow truck died. The other tow truck was on the scene, so they switched over to the other tow truck. It was a long night for them. The dispatcher was unaware that the truck was in for repair. But all ended well and the truck is in Mike's hands to figure out what is wrong. Since he is leaving the end of the month, it is good that this happened before the cold came in. Now the pickup will be ready for winter!

Now to go make a nice warm dish for the cats and dogs so that they can get the chill of the day off from them. Also, ran out of cat food, and no vehicle yet to get it....so treats for the cats! They will be happy!!!

Ministering Spirits

Summer is almost gone. Today is suppose to be the last hot day of summer. A cold front is suppose to blow in tonight bringing cooler temperatures and rain next tues & weds. I hope we still have some very nice days after the front moves through!! The sun just feels so very good.

Autumn has always been so neat, though, with all those colors!!! Why did the Lord make them so colorful? Why not just have them turn grey, then black and drop off? His creative designs are beyond anything we can imagine. We can spend a bundle of money figuring out how the Lord produced such colors. However scientists cannot take credit for the colors, nor the design, they all are the Lords.

Life, too, has its mysteries. We keep our free will and freedom to do as we choose, yet the Lord is ahead of us, keeping us and opening doors for us.

Have you read the Bible? Well, I read parts of it here and there over my life time. I would get to the stories in the old testament and would be overwhelmed by all the names and just stop there. I knew the commandments and the stories of Jesus and the old testament stories that all children read. I had an illustrated Bible and I did read all that. However, I did not think the Bible applied to us now, except for the promises of the end of time prophecies and of course what Jesus taught. I was wrong.

When we were living in Colorado Springs, we lived in a beautiful house, with almost all our windows overlooking the mountains. They were beautiful. The storms that passed through were breathtaking, especially when there was lightening. It just lite up everything. Tim was on a detail there for a year. During that time he was sent back to Montana to visit a number of different operations in different towns. He did a lot of these tours when we were in Montana -- he was very good at it.

I called him to find out when he was coming home and he said he was coming home that night. He had just finished up on a shift in Kalispell and was heading out. Before that, he had been at one (or two) other towns where he had completed his inspections (no sleep). He wanted to come home and was trying to get everything done so he could make it home today. I told him to stop and sleep somewhere first...it was too long of a drive to go without having any sleep, especially after working all those shifts. Of course, he did not listen, he wanted to come home.

Tim was driving down and it was now night time. I called him every once in awhile to make sure he was still awake. It was now getting late and I hadn't heard from Tim. I didn't know where he was. Knowing him he had a cup of coffee, a cigarette and a talk show host updating him on the latest political action going on. It was late but I couldn't sleep, I got a book and waited. I kept my ear open for the sound of his pickup coming down the street. Suddenly something was STANDING DIRECTLY AT THE SIDE OF MY BED! It was like an invisible huge ball of fire! Waves of relief, excitement and the feeling of being home were coming from it! I stared and stared at it. I didn't know what to do - I was stunned! I looked and looked to see if I could see something and maybe I saw something faintly like those wavey lines on a highway on a hot day. It stayed there. I just sat in bed and we waited. It seemed like a long time, although it wasn't. Then I heard it. A pickup was turning onto the street and moments later into our drive. As my attention was diverted to Tim and the pickup, the being disappeared. Soon Tim unlocked the front door and came upstairs. He had made it home safely.

Five years later Tim died from cancer. He had it for a long time, but his symtoms were attributed to his diabetes. When we learned of his cancer I told him about the event in Colorado Springs. I thought perhaps that was a vision of his going to heaven. Well, only recently did I run accross a passage in the Bible that dealt with what happened. It would have been a lot of comfort to Tim if I had know of it at the time and I had shared it with him. The following Bible verses calls angels "a flame of fire" that are sent forth to "minister for those who will inherit salavation". The Bible verses are below:

(regarding Jesus and the angels)

Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."

8 But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

10 And: "You LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; 12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not fail."

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make your enemies Your footstool"?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Are we headed to the Pit??

Today was so beautiful. Almost hot with a slight breeeze. A day made to be enjoyed outside!!

This afternoon I went out and picked some rocks and unloaded them until it was time to get ready to go to town. Since little sister was busy giving aerobic classes, I went and visited Mom until it was time for church. Church is nice. Pastor preached on the Garden of Eden and sin. Stressing that the devil "didn't make us do it", that we make our own choice to sin.

I was just reading a story of a man who was a pastor in a communist country. He worked at a radio station. He was told to stop preaching about Jesus, stop playing Christian music and follow the communist way and he could continue on at the radio station. He refused. They put his son and wife against a wall and told them to renounce Jesus Christ and they could live. The young son immediately said "Never" and they shot him in the head. They put the gun to the wife's head and she replied, "Never" and they killed her. Since the man was able-bodied they took him to a labor camp. This child and woman died for their faith and the man lost everything he had, and yet most people in the United States don't even have the courage to say that there is one true God - the Almighty Creator of all together with His son, Jesus Christ - our Savior - who died in our place as a sacrifice, to save us!

A little over ten years ago I was standing before a group getting an award. Now I don't remember why the other person in my story was up there. I think he was getting an award also. Standing in front of this group, with all eyes on us, I looked the other person in the eye. In that instant I was immediately pulled into darkness. I was lying in the prone position, arms close to my side and head up and facing forward. I could not move a single muscle. It was as though I had been wrapped in an invisible cocoon. I could see, more with my mind's eye, than with my eyes, which were staring straight forward. There was nothing but darkness, but yet I could see into the eternal darkness. I knew that there was no way to get out. I was filled with a feeling of hopelessness and despair. It seemed as though I was there a very long time. Suddenly a light from above encompassed me. It was as though a lid had been removed from this vast darkness. Instantly I was pulled up through a hole above me to where the light was pouring in. The next thing I knew I was back! I was standing in front of the person who was up front with me. There was laughter from the on-lookers, so I am sure we were staring at each other for a little bit. Now that so many years have passed, I probably described it better then, than I do now.

The Bible does describe the above. It took me quite sometime before I understood where it was that I was at. I hoped it wasn't a vision of MY eternal status, after-all I am a sinner and I am bombarded at times with the fear that I am not good enough. I know it is a vision of something to come. However, I am putting my trust in the Lord that He is indeed our Deliverer. Christ died for our sins to save each one of us. Those that have a heart for Him, He will go after. Once you know the Lord, doesn't sin change? Doesn't it become bitter when you partake of it. And the more you don't let go, the more distasteful it is? I grieve at times because I know I am not holy. I grieve for the times I could have taught my children more of the Lord, and did not. But the Lord is with us now, and we go forward from this day on. He mends the past and gives us a future. I won't describe the below Bible verses, as you will know and understand. What the vision means, I don't know, but it will come.

2 Peter 2: "1But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

"4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) -- 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accustation against them before the Lord.

"12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever."
--------------------------------------------------------

Number 16: "27 So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little children.

"28 And Moses said: "By this you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will. 29 If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are visited by the common fate of all men, then the LORD has not sent me. 30 But if the LORD creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the LORD."

"31 Now it came to pass, as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground split apart under them, 32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods. 33 So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly."

Brutes

Page 3 of today's Tribune had a map with the grizzly sitings marked. 5 adults and 3 cubs have been spotted approximately 27-29 miles from us! I don't know what I would do if a grizzly came through at night and attacked the dogs. We will have to stock up on bear spray, just in case; it appears it is our only line of defense. Grizzlies are brutes. There may be some grizzly bears that are content to live by humans and not bother them, but would you trust your children and livestock or pets with them in the same area. According to the map, they have killed a great number of calves and sheep.

I had a run in with a different kind of brute, when I was a kid. It was a hot, sunny day and I went to the creek bank to bask in the sun. The creek ran through our property a short distance and then curved around and back out again, leaving a lush "island" that was about half the size of a football field. The banks around the creek were probably about 15 feet high, with gullies where you could go down to the creek side. The most southern bank was broken down a little and had a wonderful, sandy spot for laying in the sun and listening to music, reading, or just enjoying the sun.

On the other side of the fence, the neighbors had range cattle. This particular year he had gotten a Texas Long Horn Bull. And it was BIG and its horns were LONG. They just happen to be on the other side right across from the "island" on this day. Dad, or maybe the neighbor, had put heavy rocks on the barbed wire fence to weigh it down so they couldn't swim under and get to our side. I had noticed the bull trying to get through the fence and he made me uneasy, but I stayed. Suddenly something alerted me that something was different. I looked up and the bull had gotten over to our side!!! And he was looking at ME!

I was a fast runner, but that day I probably broke all records as I raced across the pasture. I could hear his hooves pounding, but didn't dare stop and look back. I got to the top of the long slope that covered about 2/3rds of the way home and was so relieved to see the farm. I ran and then threw myself over the fence. Now I looked back and there he was. Standing at the top of the hill and making his way down. I ran to the house and got Mom, who then got Dad. Dad told Mom to call the neighbors to open the gate in the pasture-- he was bringing the bull over. He armed himself with a 4x4 post and with his left hand he wrapped that bull's tail right down to his tailbone and held him tight. He then maneuvered that bull out into the pasture and up the hill. If he tried to get Dad with his horns, he got his tail yanked hard the opposite way he was trying to turn and whacked with the 4x4. That was an 80 acre pasture and the gate was on the fartherest corner. It took a lot of guts to do that. One thing I really wish I could see, though, was the neighbor's face when Dad got to the gate and released the bull.

You may know a brute, also, as we live in a world filled with them. Savage, self-centered people who's only desire are for themselves. In the Bible, we find the following:
  • Psalm 123:1 -4 I look to you, heaven-dwelling God, look up to you for help. Like servants, alert to their master's commands, like a maiden attending her lady, We're watching and waiting, holding our breath, awaiting your word of mercy. Mercy, God, mercy! We've been kicked around long enough, Kicked in the teeth by complacent rich men, kicked when we're down by arrogant brutes.

You only need to open the paper and see all the children that have been killed, or mained by those in whose care they have been entrusted. What a great betrayal for those little babies and little children, whatever their age!! And those brutes who deceive our daughters and sons into believing that abortion is not the destruction of a child. Most certainly we have a God whose anger is going to be great when He unleashes it on this world.

Kittens, calf & computer

Mother Cat decided to move the kittens. It is always so amazing how animals protect their young.

Remember the time when we were kids and out in the corral and we all decided to go over to see the new born calf. The mother wasn't one of our pet cows, it was the Jersey, if I remember correctly--the onrey one- and she was hovering over her baby. As we closed in, all of a sudden she started pawing the ground, put her head down and began snorting. Then she made short charges at us, kinda circling her calf. It didn't take us bright little kids long to figure out to high tail it out of there. As I was going over the fence I looked back. All of us had not left. There was Mary standing staring at the cow who was now making bellowing threats and with head lowered making straight for little sister. In that same instant Victor appeared, janked Mary up and both took off and flew over the fence. We didn't mess with her calf again. Quite unfair as we just wanted to pet it!

The rains never came last night. Apparently I must have heard wrong. The paper says they will be here Sunday...so good....that means Sunday is a day of rest. Tomorrow the dump is opened, so will be mowing. Got a call to work a home care assignment first thing in the am, so as soon as I get home its pedal to the metal and get it done!!!

Spent the whole evening trapped into trying to get a virus buster on the upstairs computer. There appears to be a file missing on the computer so that nothing can download. I can't believe there are people that actually love doing this computer tech stuff!!! Kathleen and Andy will be back on Monday....maybe, just maybe I can get them to figure this out.

Cold Front Coming

92 yesterday and 90 today. The weatherman said there is a cold front coming in tonight with a good possibility of rain and then back to the 80's by tomorrow. Only about 1/3 done with the yard...so in about a week or two I will be done.

If anyone is looking for a little mouser...we got 5 of them. 2-blacks, 2-pinks and 1 b/w. After I recover from the day, I will see if I can get some pictures.

Mosquitos are here

The dog, Beamer, now has figured out how to get out the gate. He got out yesterday too, so, I had not only wired the gate shut, but put the rake in there so that the clamps wouldn't be so easy to move. Obviously he spent the night figuring it out! This morning Sammy was barking up a storm, so I looked out the window and sure enough there was Beamer's tail going around the side of the house. Dressed quickly and headed to the fridge. Good thing the dogs have been enjoying morning treats lately. I grabbed the 99 cent hot dog pack, took out a hot dog for each dog, and stepped out on the deck. Beamer knew what was coming and had not only come back but beat me into the dog pen. He knew he had to be on the other side of the fence to get a treat.

Looked over at Sammy and it looked like she was splatted with mud....that seemed odd as it hasn't rained in a bit. As I took her hotdog over to her I saw not mud, but mosquitos! As I watched Sam she was trying to get them off her face with her paw. Luckily we had a couple of flea and tick spray bottles. Sam didn't want to get sprayed but then found out she got her tummy rubbed to get that spray on her, she was QUITE happy. So left the dog pen with two drenched dogs. Sam spent the next 20 minutes rolling around on the ground trying to rub it off. Victoria was worried about Bane in California getting heart worm, as it is spread by mosquitos. I don't know what shots the dogs have, but whether they have the shots or not, those mosquitos are out and they are after the dogs!

Well, the day is just beginning and there are a lot of weeds out there that are going down today! No rain dances, Anita, til I get those weeds down!!

Free Will

When Adam and Eve were created they were given free will. The Lord gave man (Adam and Eve) a world that He had created for them to live in and enjoy. And it was good. Only one thing was forbidden--to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.")

Satan came, as a serpent, to Eve and cast doubt on the Word of God. Satan then told her the lie that she would not die but would be like God. Eve believed the lie and ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree of good and evil and then gave the fruit to Adam to eat and he took it and ate it. Their eyes then were open. Satan's lie was a half truth, Eve and Adam did not die from eating the fruit, but they would die because of disobedience to God's command. For God then said, "For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.” (Gen 3:19, in part) They did not became wise as Eve desired, instead they now knew good and evil. The Lord cursed the ground, and thorns and thistles came into the fields and life became as we know it now.

  • Genesis 3: 1 "Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, 'Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden"?'2 And the woman said to the serpent, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, 'You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.'"

What is the Bible?

TO THOSE WHO CALL THE BIBLE CORRUPT OR CHANGEABLE:

How is it that God, who created millions of living species, both plant and animals, to also include fish and birds, cannot keep the one single most important book to man, His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How is it that God, who made EACH species to reproduce in their own fashion with their own kind, cannot keep His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How is it that God, who can stop armies, cause plagues, and send the blasphemers to hell, cannot keep His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How is it that God, who can heal the sick, raise the dead, save a nation, and with His mighty love and kindness cause great miracles in the lives of countless believers, cannot keep His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How is it that God, who has power over angels and all powers, who can give man insight into His mighty love through great visions, cannot keep His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How is it that God, who called men from all walks of life, and blessed them and kept them, cannot keep His Word, as written in the Bible, incorruptible?

How can anyone who has witnessed all the blessings God has bestowed on us, believe His god to be so powerless? Do we believe the Bible is a "book" or is it that we have faith in the power of god, that He has given us His Word and He will keep it holy?

God gave us free will and He gave the angels free will. However, if man has the right to choose, why doesn't God give him the True choice - His unchanging Word in written form, the Bible-- or the way of humanity? If the Bible is corrupt and the world is corrupt - what is the choice? Is this a loving God?

Look at all the churches that have succumbed to the lie of homosexuality, because of "compassion" or acceptance meant to be their "good works" to love all. They were deceived and Satan won because they didn't keep their eyes on the Lord. Their buying the lie of homosexuality not only corrupted the church, but also failed to save the souls of those who were lost to the lie.

We have a powerful, awesome God who is Lord of All. Tune in and listen to a bible believing preacher or read the Bible - there is promise and hope and love that only God can give.

Odd Weather

It sure got cool out tonight!!! I was sitting in Kat's rocker earlier, shredding papers that I was getting rid of, and suddenly something like a very high gale or wind storm blew through. It came quickly and after a bit was gone and we were left with the wind that had been blowing all day. Then, a little later I was watching the news and suddenly there was a sizzling noise from the tv and computer and everything went off and after maybe 10-15 seconds came back on. Looked outside to see if a storm was brewing or heading our way. Nothing out of the ordinary out there. So....I guess it is just odd weather.

Today was rather uneventful. Was expecting to see Pete and Ginger but found out they are with Cassie, who ended up in the hospital this weekend. She is doing ok now but still in the hospital. So visited with Mom, shopped and came home. A lady came to check on the shed this am. It was for her son who is in Helena. Never heard back. A lady who called last Friday, called back, but never came out. So, no developments on that situation.

I turned the rubbermaid doghouse (dogs not using it) around so that it is facing the sliding door, and left just enough room for kitten to squeeze in. Hazel is getting real mean with kitten; and, if Hazel has her babies in the cat camper, I am sure kitten will be tossed out on his tail-end. Kitten is so lonely out there. He now goes right into the dog pen and sits right outside Sammy's reach and taunts the dog unmercifully. Sammy is just bouncing around barking and barking!

Have been filing papers that I couldn't decide whether to keep or toss. Well, how is that for a quiet day. Victoria & Nick had Timmy and Serena Sat night, and Tim & Huimin had Madison on Sun. Wish I could see those little babies!!! Tomorrow is the start of mowing again, unless the rain and wind are too bad. Going to leave the little video on til Chris can see it this weekend. All is well here.

Family Experiement-video

OK...gonna experiment here. PLEASE push the little arrow under the cat...or maybe even click the cat.

I will only post for a day to see if it works. Am trying to get Kathleen to sing me a song, but must wait again for her to come to Great Falls!!

(9/22/09 I deleted the video since the background was a recorded song. I don't know if a family video would be considered a copyright violation...so will wait until I can get some original music.)

Montana Journal complete

Today I finished putting together the Montana Journal documenting the days with Christopher. It was a lot easier than the California entries. (I got smarter here and kept the msgs all in one place and only e-mailed from one account!)

We have had such wonderful rain storms this summer...I loved them all and they have kept our flowers, tree, 5 remaining lilacs (that the gophers didn't destroy) and grass from dying. It has also brought forth very healthy weeds. Tomorrow Agribasics is going to come and spray. Then we will prepare the ground for planting. First mow the standing dead weeds with their seeds, fill in the gopher and badger holes and then start picking rocks again. Kathleen and Andy should be having days off about that time! Yea!

Sure did hem and haw a lot about finishing these journals! Finally, I just asked the Lord to give me strength and then took it one entry at a time and hours and hours later...it was finished. I love the Lord, He is always there, and always provides a way, although not alway the way I had in mind. Hope all is fine with everyone. God Bless and good night. randi

Bad old knee

Hi Anita, its just an old knee. One side is worn out. Had x-rays early last year - or the year before. I am going to get signed up with the VA and have them check it out. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Good nite again. I look forward to seeing pictures of that little snake. You chased Tom around with it, yet? I wonder if I ever told him about your childhood pranks with those little water snakes!!! sleep tight!

Life goes on

Yesterday I was kinda depressed, so I got out for awhile. Went out to the cemetery. Sarah's grave needs to be cut desperately, so will go over Monday morning before I head over to Mom's.

Went and mailed off pkgs to Victoria and Huimin so they will have the California journal. While I was over there I saw one of the fellows that Tim began at the Post Office with and worked with throughout his whole career. They both started off as clerks, both about the same age, military background, and both loved to shoot the bull over a beer. It was good to see him. Then the girl that was working the counter had worked with Tim at both the Post Office and at the Mail Processing Plant. So, very good to see them both.

Went and saw our cousin Mary Jane. The day before I tried to catch her too, as Mom had sent cookies and carrots over for her birthday. Yesterday we just had a real good visit and enjoyed some orange pop and, of course, a cookie. (hehe) She wants to update the family book one day. Perhaps some winter day we can get together for this.

Wednesday night was church. Very nice. The evening was so calm, very warm, but not hot. Pastor talked on creation. Did you notice that God created grass and herb and fruit trees and each yielding its own fruit? He created all living things, and blessed them to be fruitful and multiply. I remember being young and in school and trying to figure out how God made the world using evolution. When you are young, you trust that what you are told is the truth. It was long after I reached adulthood, before I realized there was no evolution of any kind - although there is mutation. Man, who has libraries full of books of knowledge, cannot create life, he cannot create the potential for future life. He cannot create a spirit. Man, with all the wisdom of this world, cannot even touch, much less understand, the great wonders and ways of our Lord.

What an aching knee I have! Got it really out of joint again somehow. Tomorrow I will wrap it and see if we can make it though another day. So to all, good night. Anita don't forget to close your door, we don't want that little snake and lizard getting in the house!!! God Keep us all. love, randi

Contentment

After I went to bed last night, the rains came in, not too much, but enough to make everything fresh. The thunder, though, was great...almost raised me out of my bed!

Today, being payday, I went to town to take care of business and to see Mom. (AND, yes, I did bring home vegetables from her garden.) I've changed the radio station in the pickup and tuned into 89.5 which comes on as "God's Country." It is nice. It is gentle and Christian and Country---there is just total contentment with most of their songs.

Driving down the one-way over to my cousin's house, I'm aware of a quietness of nature, it feels like Fall. There is contentment and peace as I look at the old houses I pass and then down at the mileage gauge of my old pickup which is past 170,000 miles. I like it all - the old being refreshed and going forward. I remember something in the Bible concerning contentment, I thought it was in Psalms, but I found this verse:

1 Timothy 6:6 "Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content."

And I like "contentment" -- it is a good feeling.
