The Mighty Missouri

Pictures are of the Missouri River today.   It is amazing how far down it has gone!

The gravel roads, out where we live, turn into a dust bowl everytime someone drives down them.  No need to wash your car, as once you drive home the car is once again covered in dust and dirt.

Rain is predicted for next week with a 40% chance.  Let's pray that it materializes.  God be with us all.

Fasting

I, who can't get through the day without numerous breaks of tea and "something", am going to fast tomorrow.

There is a number of Christian Conservative churches meeting in Philadelphia for 40 days of fasting and prayer, asking for help from the Lord,  that the moral depravity, which is taking over our country, and our economic meltdown will end.

Also, the North Central LDS Church will have prayers and fasting tomorrow that the Lord will end the drought conditions we have experienced this fall.  We now haven't had rain for quite some time.  We did have some rain forecasted, but it never materialized.

So tomorrow it is fasting and prayers for the end to homosexuality, abortion and the other sins destroying our land.   Also, prayers that we will have a bountiful rainfall.

"Matthew 18: 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

God be with us.

The Crud

If I was into the stock market, a definite good bet would be Mucinex, Ibuprofen and whatever company is responsible for Zithromyicin antibiotic.  We have had the Crud and it just won't go away.  Huimin and I have both been to the doctor and gotten Mucinex and a Z-pack.  (different doctors)  Kathleen and Andy have had it for weeks.  Next week Serena is going to the doctor.  A lot of chest congestion, fluid in the lungs, accompanied by ears or sinus infection.

Today the babies are back with Kat, so Timmy and Serena and I will be working outside tomorrow.  It is supposed to be a beautiful day and I am hoping maybe some of that fresh air will help clear everything up.  I forgot to call in and report the antelope that someone hit and left lying in the ditch up the road a bit, and on the other side, so hopefully it is not smelling by tomorrow!

Everything this summer seems to be two steps forward and one backwards.  But, we have survived summer with all its challenges and now have to prepare for winter.

The Lord has been good to us.  Life isn't perfect, but our needs are met and we have good work to keep us busy.  Whatever His plan for the future--I look forward to it unfolding.   So much is happening in the news and I think, "Oh, it has to be now", but I wait on the Lord, He is on the throne and He is in control.  All will be done on His time.
