Last night the wind came howling in. It howled around the eves and around the garage door! It had rained earlier in the evening, but seemed to have been gentle rain; it now turned into a fury and pelted the windows and the roof. I got up to go check on the dog houses to make sure the attached little fort didn't send them flying. Kat and Andy had come in earlier, and now the storm brought them out to check on the dogs too. They were ok.
Neither Sammy or Beamer would budge out of their dog houses, when I went out to feed them this morning. Beamer peeked his head out and waited for me and Sammy just stayed inside. Picking up their dishes and dumping the rainwater, I stuck their dishes inside their houses.
We aren't getting the dangerous storms that they are having in the midwest, but all will have to watch streams, creeks and rivers, as the rain continues through the week. A lot of places are flooding, but so far we just have lots of mud.
Kathleen's little caragana trees that she planted last year seem to love this weather. They finally bushed out and are standing up straight and pretty. From a distance I don't see the little lilacs taking off, but the bigger ones close to the house have reached their little branches up to the sky and leafed out.
Whatever happens, whatever comes, we know the Lord is in control. We keep our eyes on Him.
