It seems kinda romantic to have little squirrels in your trees, eating nuts and apples, and playing hide and seek with each other. Unfortunately, we don't have tree squirrels; it appears the "gophers" we have are really ground squirrels. If nothing is done about them, there may never be any trees out here and we will never see a little tree squirrel playing in the trees.
The ground squirrel loves trees too. The only difference is he digs a hole fairly close to our tender young trees and then burrows under the tree and eats the tasty roots. They killed most of the lilacs we planted last year. Fortunately for us the badger came and wiped out the colony.
This year, even though I had covered up their holes, a whole new colony has invaded the land. Freckles is licking his chops and trying to eat them all...but this is way beyond him. I will have to try the live trap one more time and if that does not work, we are going for repellants or poisons.
Kathleen found a squirrel hole next to one of her newly planted plum trees. The days are numbered for that tree, and whichever one they choose next, if we don't act quickly.

Late Term Abortions
The Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act did not stop late term abortions--it prevented ONE method used. Late term abortions procedures must now be accomplished totally in the womb. The Partial Birth Abortion Ban prohibited the killing of babies that were "partially delivered".
For the abortionist, abortions can be risky business--even with arms and legs twisted and sliced off or the body mutilated, a baby may still live through the abortion and come out alive. If the abortionist kills the baby, after it has left its mother, or is partially delivered, it is a criminal act. Now many abortion clinics are adding a procedure before they undertake abortions to insure that no live baby will be born. A syringe full of salt solution is injected directly into the heart of the baby causing a cardiac arrest. The abortion then takes place.
This solution is also one of the drugs used when administering "lethal injection executions" by the state. Another drug is administered to render the condemned prisoner unconscious so that he does not feel the excruciating pain from the cardiac arrest or the suffication from the drug given to make his muscles immobile. A baby in the womb does not even get the humane touch of being unconscience or even given anesthesia. (An exception is noted that some abortionists may offer the mother the option of sedating the baby before killing it.)
We are such a blind nation. We stand by and let babies be killed in the most horrible ways....so that we don't get judged by our neighbors accusing us of judging others...so that we won't be called Christian....so that we don't interfer with another's right. We are sheep in the hands of Satan and his legion of liars, betrayers and deceivers.
May God deliver us from this great deception! May He save our young mothers-to-be and their babies. Does it not seem unreal that as we sit here, a little baby is being murdered, and it is totally legal!?

The due process section of the Montana Constitution provides that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. CI-102 amends the due process section of the Montana Constitution to define “person” as used in that section to include every human being regardless of age, health, function, physical or mental dependency, or method of reproduction, from the beginning of the biological development of that human being. It directs the legislature to implement this definition of person by appropriate legislation.

Hand to the Plow
Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
There was a time when life was comfortable in our family home, when I had the enjoyment of having my husband with me. And, I loved dearly the time when my baby was with me. But I have no wish to go back in time. It was a good time, but we all have to move forward to what is ahead. God has great treasures in store for Tim and Sarah, beyond any measure of what is here on earth. We just go forward without them and in God's time, we will go "home", too.
Sometimes I am afraid that I will fail in my walk with God. It is so easy to judge others, to get angry, and to not put all my trust in God. It is so easy to get caught up in the busy work of life--to the point where it just takes over. Or, find that I have over-committed myself and the mountains of promises are about to fall on me.
It is time to now be still and just listen to the Lord. What are His priorities? Where do I go in my walk with Him? Its time to pray and stay in prayer.
