Breakfast

Do you ever find anything good for breakfast? I like something quick with a glass of tea. Toast is ok.

The last time I baked cookies I was looking for some chocolate chips and found none. What I did find was some deluxe trail mix that Kat had. It was old but not that dated. So I used it. (She said ok.) It turned out pretty good and it makes a really quick breakfast. The next time I am getting the one without peanutbutter chips and sunflower seeds stuck in it, though! All the fruit and nuts in it are healthy for you. It has sugar, but so does your cereal. Can't wait to experiment with it!

A lot of earthquakes lately! Major ones. Last saturday Tim also felt an earthquake over where he is stationed. It wasn't a six, but it did shake them around. If you ever want to check out the status of earthquakes in the world go to:

Pictures and more Pictures!!

Hopefully everyone will enjoy the scrapbook! It is going to be long process getting all these pictures in order. Will be sending my brothers and sisters pictures soon to see if they can identify some of these kids from the 50's. Mom and I had a difference of opinion as to who a few of them were. Not today...I'm about bonkers from staring at the computer screen all day.

That noon rain never did come yesterday. If it snuck in a little later, I never noticed it. Today the sun came out and is turning the snow to mush. Wish I could pack up some for Anita---maybe she could make a "snowbear"!

Listened to the coverage on the health care summit, while I was scanning; and, it seems to be there was no change in positions from either side. How can anyone knowingly support a bill allowing taxpayer funding of abortion, while knowing full well the great depth of cruelty this procedure is?

Where Did the Sun Go?

Yesterday was sooo nice. Just sitting where the hot sun was streaming through the window was so very comfortable. I thought today would be another day like that. After the last post I went upstairs and wondered why it was so overcast.....no sun anywhere. I came down and just checked the weather.com site and it says today we are even getting rain at noon! After today, though, except for Saturday, we can look forward to sunshine, with a whisp of a cloud on a few days!!! Its coming...I guess we must still wait another day.

Back to the Family Pictures

Went and got the old computer back from Mom's back room yesterday. She still thought I was a young "spring chicken" that could jump up and get things done instantly. She was impatient with my slow progress, especially since I didn't make it over when I was recouperating from my back injury and, during the below freezing cold, when I wanted to be home to make sure the dogs got inside. It is better this way, anyways. I can now scan at my own pace and not have to worry about geting home. When I have everything ready, then I will get her input. No sense aggravating the elderly, and, she has her own work to do. The only thing on her mind now is getting in a garden and she is chomping at the bit to get out there!!

The weather is suppose to stay in the 40's. The dogs and cats are really enjoying seeing the sunshine! Sunshine--where they can lie in the sun and get their tummies warm. When it gets a little warmer, I might join them out there on a lounge chair. Of course, we first need to train Sammy not to jump in our laps!! Nothing like a full grown black lab/boxer thinking she is still a pup! Life is good.

Winter hits again

Well....the last couple days was just a taste of early spring. Today it started snowing again. Hopefully the roads will not be icy tomorrow morning!

Montana Springtime?

We had a light rain falling yesterday. This is making mush of the snow. After a night of freezing temperatures, there was a nice ice rink out there this morning. Today, more rain. After my last fall, I'm now scared to step on anything that even looks wet!

Happy anniversary to Anita and Tom. You will see her beautiful ring on her blog. Tom you are so precious!! What a wonderful gift!

Valentine's Day - the message of love

Mark 12:33 "And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

What a great blessing to know the Love of God. That we have so great a privilege to love the Creator of all things...the almighty and powerful God that has the world and the universe in His hands! That we can walk with Him!! And be His child!

But, how do we love one another. How do we love our neighbor as ourselves? -- We step back from sin. We become overcomers. We become a witness of Jesus, for those we love and for those in our lives--whether friend, neighbor, or all that we meet. We give up of ourselves--the little pleasures that would lead another down the road to sin. We give up tears from the injustices we are inflicted with so that another will know the love of God. We give up our treasures so that the greater good will be done.

Today, go forth and love your God, He is awesome and mighty, and may God's love be with you.

A Child's Love

What can be more precious than the love of a child. What a great gift to be a parent and have that wonderful opportunity to be able to see through the eyes of your child!

The Lord knew the heart of a child and he told us to have a heart like them.

Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!"

God be with you. Take care of your children.

To Discern Evil from Good

In Luke, the Lord rebuked the people for not discerning the times,

Luke 12:54 Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. 55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

It is prophesied that there will be a time before the end of times and the return of Jesus that men will call evil good and good evil.

Isaiah 5: 20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!

Like wildfire, our country is accepting and practicing the act of homosexuality and abortion? Teaching it to our children, putting it in our laws, and preaching it in our churches.

Would that the Lord would give this nation an understanding heart to discern evil from good! That is what the great King Solomon asked of the Lord. The Lord not only gave Solomon wisdom like none other has known, but also riches and honor.

1 Kings 3:5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”

6 And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. 7 Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

10 The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. 13 And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

What a great blessing to be a jewel of the Lord's! How He loves us and blesses us beyond measure! And, gives to us discernment of right and wrong.

Malachi3: 16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. 17 “ They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, " On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.
