Father's Day

Today was a beautiful day for Father's Day.  Thunder rumbled overhead, soon afterwards the rain poured from the sky, and then came sunshine and blue skies--a beautiful June day.

Tim's children, along with mom, are visiting their other grandma and their grandpa in Ohio.  The grandparents have been waiting quite some time to see their only grandchildren and were surprised at how much they have grown.

Victoria's daughter, along with mom and dad, visited her other grandma and her grandpa in California.  Grandpa Russ has been diagnosed with cancer and is now fighting the battle with chemo.   What a blessing to have family around when you are sick.

Kathleen's son, along with dad, visited his other grandma and his grandpa.  Grandpa Bill is about to have knee surgery again.   Today was a "boy's out" day with golf and gopher hunting.

God has blessed me with my children and a wonderful husband who loved and cared for his children.  Life has been good, despite the mountains and valleys.  My children married and brought me beautiful grandchildren and I thank God for this awesome blessing.

The greatest honor today is for our Heavenly Father, who brought forth His beloved Son, destined to be our savior.  I thank Him for His amazing love for us.  May the return of our Lord be soon!

Peaceful Day

Today was beautiful!   The sun shone warmly all day and even the gentle breeze, that blew for a while this afternoon, was semi-cool.   As the day wore to an end, the stillness of the evening brough a restful quietness to the countryside.  After all these rainy, chilly days, it was so very refreshing.

This afternoon, Chris and Kathleen discovered that we do not have one frog in the pond...there are at least five!!  I thought, from listening to the croaking, that I could hear another frog there--but five!?!  I don't know where all the other frogs came from!  We know we had ONE frog hopping around when we laid sod last year.   Kat, Andy and Chris are making plans for the pond...it will be exciting to see what they end up doing.

Hopefully tomorrow will be another day like today.  I look forward to getting as far as possible on the mowing, before the rain returns.   God is good.  He is our Comfort and our Peace.

The Water is Rising

Christopher took some pictures of the Marias River on our way home today.  It is now almost up to the Interstate!
All the streams in Montana are overflowing; and, rivers are going over their banks and flooding homes and roadways.   As we came down, we tried to see if there was still snow in the mountains, and I am sure there is, but we could not see it for the  cloud  cover.   Tomorrow it is forecasted to be sunny, followed by rain on Saturday and Sunday.

If there is anything that tells man he is not in control, it is when the forces of nature become disasters.   Man, in all his worldly wisdom, cannot stop it.  To a degree, we can protect ourselves from its ravages, but we cannot stop it, or even turn it aside.   At what point, will man turn to God for help?
